Dearest Gentle reader

Cheers to making it to the 4th email 🎉🎊🥂🥂(you and me both). I’m writing this email with so much glee because Bridgerton season 3 drops in hours 💃, and like I stated in my last email to you I’ll be talking about ‘ Romancing Mr Bridgerton’ .

  Like I always promise, I’ll try my best to avoid spoilers Incase you haven’t read the book and you are intending to. I particularly love reading books before watching the movies/series probably because when I read my mind creates a mental picture and it’s so fascinating to see it play out but more often than not, I’m always disappointed because I wonder why most film makers or directors or scriptwriters (help me I don’t know who is in charge of it) don’t stick to the source material.

Anyway, back to the main point of topic today which is : Colin and Penelope !!

Let me start with this; I don’t like friends to lovers troupe 😭, I don’t know why but I don’t like it. Like why? What’s that about ? But in reality I don’t know what type of troupe I would want to experience love in (I don’t think we can choose actually 😂) but still for fiction sake, I don’t want to have anything to do with friends to lovers. I think in reality if I end up dating any of my friends I’ll just keep asking questions every blue moon, questions like ‘so when did you know that you liked me?, what made you like me?, why didn’t you like me since? Why do you like me now? ‘ and just total bullshit like that 😂😂. That’s why I think to an extent Penelope was justified in doubting that Colin actually loved her. Or if I date my friend now my own will be different and every thing will now scatter we will now hate ourselves like mad it would now be ‘friends to lovers to enemies’ troupe😂

   Another issue I’m going to raise is that there is no IDEAL person and I love how the book captured that. The fact that Penelope always thought Colin was perfect until she got to know him and realized that he had his flaws. So I’m going to overshare a bit 😂. So there was this guy that I used to read his write ups and they were so nice I can as well say I was a fan girl, and I always thought about how nice it was to have a boyfriend who loves to read and I could discuss books with, so already I already placed him on a pedestal in my mind. One generous day I decided to follow him on X, and he followed me back, I was actually like okayyyyyyy, then he slid into my dms and we started talking and I just realized that whew! I might not want that after all😂 gave me the ick so much I don’t think I engage in his posts again 😭, I don’t even know the moral of this story I told or why I told it but there is that!

   Also can we take a moment to appreciate the friendship between Eloise and Penelope, they were always there for each other (please disregard what ever Shonda Rhimes did in season two because they never fought in the books😭 Eloise was even proud of Penelope for being Whistledown)

wait a minute Whistledown = whistleblower ( a person who informs on a person) whoshhhhh, why am I just noticing this !🫠 I might be wrong tho.

In anticipation of the part 1 of the series coming out, I just hope Shonda Rhimes would stick to the source material and I know that that’s just wishful thinking because already we know that Penelope is Lady Whistledown, Benedict was supposed to get married before Colin. And Penelope has a younger sister named Felicity who is friends with Hyacinth, but Felicity has been non-existent since season 1.

So let me ask you :
